About
Tram Trinh brings 30+ years of board-level leadership across MedTech, Consumer Health and AI in North America, Europe and Asia, supporting companies at their most pivotal moments: a sale or a management transition, often prepared by opening new markets. A builder and connector by nature, she aligns board strategy with shareholder interests to drive value creation while mitigating legal and financial risk.
She works in three capacities: board-level interim and fractional executive, independent board director, and Certified Chair™ board advisor, across publicly traded, family-owned, founder-led, PE-backed and venture-backed companies in health tech and AI. Through Vitanlink, the platform she founded in 2013, she helps VC and PE-backed and founder-led B2B health tech companies maximize value ahead of a sale or a management transition, by building, securing and transferring it, notably through cross-border expansion. Her dual perspective combines an operator's view (she co-founded three ventures), led P&Ls and expanded the market reach of corporate-group subsidiaries in Western Europe and Asia, with financial, legal and governance oversight.
She has driven international P&L growth, aligned governance with growth strategy, and led turnarounds, exits and ownership transitions, from Fortune 50 corporations to family-owned mid-caps and growth SMEs. She led the European profitability transformations behind two exits totaling ~$6.2B:
As CEO France and EMEA Board Director at Welch Allyn (then family-owned), she led the preparation and transition of the France/EMEA business ahead of its ~$2.05B acquisition by NYSE-listed Hill-Rom (later Baxter).
As EMEA Management Board Member at Johnson & Johnson Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics, she drove the pricing and operational strategy that laid the groundwork for its ~$4.15B divestiture to The Carlyle Group.
Through Vitanlink, she has advised 50+ founder-led and PE/VC-backed companies at board and operating level, contributing to €100M+ in value created. Endeavor Global Network CEOs rate her a top healthcare mentor (9+/10). She has served as Interim CBO and Interim Country CEO for VC- and PE-backed and privately owned companies, and is Senior Advisor at Alantra, Board Advisor at Vivaltes and Advisory Board Member at The Sabi. She also serves on the iNED Committee of the LPEA M&A Club and the EHS Law Committee of the IBA.
She holds an MBA (McGill), an LL.M. in International Financial Law (King's College London), an active US CPA license (New Hampshire), the Financial Times Non-Executive Director Diploma, the Private Company Governance certificate (PDA) and the Certified Chair™ credential from the Advisory Board Centre. She received the J&J Standards of Leadership award twice (2002, 2005).
French-born, she has lived and worked in 15+ cities, is based in Paris, and speaks French, English, German and Vietnamese.
